Where Tradition Meets Modernity
With the theme "Once a hub for countless merchants on the canal; now shouldering the mission of rail transit", our design skillfully merges Suzhou's historical legacy as a key Beijing-Hangzhou Canal node with the modern role of rail transit. By extracting the core elements from the prosperous canal culture, which blends old and new, we preserve the memory of "merchants and boats gathering in crowds" and, with contemporary aesthetics, and convey rail transit's modern speed, creating a thousand-year dialogue in the space.
Wooden screens partition the tea lounge, blending naturally with light beige furnishings. The warm wood tones and soft palette create a serene retreat, maintaining the office space's simplicity while foster a relaxing atmosphere for employees. The design balances functionality and aesthetics, with subtle details reflecting Suzhou's refined cultural elegance.

Canal Culture_Lobby
Extracting core elements from canal culture—the curved shape of Wupeng boat, wooden oars, the woven rattan textures—we reinterpret them with modern materials and techniques. The metal-woven arched canopy echoes boat covers, while layering walls reflect shimmering waterways scenes.
